Due to the fact that it’s the month of moharram, it must be pondered upon this verse of the holy Qur’an
“Why doesn’t a person from every group and from every ‘tribe’
become understanding in religion.” (Surah Taube (repentence), ayah 122)
The root of the arabic word for understanding is ‘figh’
The structure of understanding is ‘taf’al’, (“become understanding in religion”)

On the greatness of the tribulations of the incident of Ashura
Due to the fact that it’s the month of moharram, it must be pondered upon this verse of the holy Qur’an

In The Name Of Allah, The Beneficient, The Merciful
All praise is due to Allah the lord of the worlds and may he send greetings and blessings on the last of his messengers Mohammad and his emaculate family, may Allah hasten the return of his final proof upon the earth, and may the curse of Almighty Allah be upon their enemies until the day of judgement.
Our debate was concerning conditions. Because this debate won’t finish, and
This is an important discussion, we will leave it for later.
Regarding the root word of ‘understanding’ in arabic there are important debates
The summary of this debate is that
The understanding of religion and the recognition of religion must be digested in the logic of mankind.
First it must be understood what religion is.
Until religion isn’t recognized religion won’t be understood.
“Truly the religion with Allah is Islam.”
The religion which is the result of all of the choosing of the prophets.”
What is the level of importance of understanding such a religion?
The reason for the remaining of this religion is the stand of the ‘king of the martyrs (Imam Hussein son of Imam Ali- peace be upon them and their progeny).
    Understanding this great subject which
Is the result of all of the choosing of prophets and all of the revelation of the holy books that are related to this great stand.
    How important is this?
    Today questions arise and
All of you must be ready for two reasons
One of them being to refute and the other to prove.
It’s possible that because of ignorance, this subject reach the level that
    Some may imagine
These mournings, this grief and this sorrow, are exaggerating of this subject and
This is a reason for disheartening.
It must be understood those who
question these processions to the amount that they are,
Who are they? They are of two groups
One are those who are related to Islam
And one group are those who have become misguided from Islam
regarding those who are related to Islam and imagine that
what does the amazement, fervor, and dismay of this day mean?
In what problems are those who question these processions?
If all of their clerics were to gather
they wouldn’t have the power to answer the great subject which I will mention.
Those who get their sustenance from Ashura, and
who weaken the beliefs of this religion
these are people who believe that
every Friday night, God comes from the sky to the earth, and
from the beginning of the sunset until sunrise God is on the earth and
when the sun rises, he closes his basket of food and returns to the sky.
Does such a group and such a religion imagine to
weaken Ashura and its rights and rituals?!
They are at the level of logic that they
Don’t understand that if God is on the earth on Friday nights
Then how can the sky sustain without God? And
During the week when God goes back to the sky
Then how can the earth go on with out God?
Let us put aside the philosophical points for now and know the value of this sect!
This subject that I said is the foundation of the religion of those who
Have confronted the Shia and claim they are the standard bearers of monotheism!
They are drowned in imagination and darkness
How do such people have the right to give an opinion on the incident of Ashura?!
The second set of people are those who aren’t under the banner of Islam
And this group includes people like the pope and his followers
If they have any power then let them come out of their imaginations about God and his supposed ‘last supper’!
Imaginations and the absence of understanding and logic is at this limit.
These words that we say, is with hundreds of millions of Christians and
with their leader who is the pope!
If they have the power then let them challenge the truth!
    That is the imagination that
these people who in their ‘last supper’ ceremony create a dough
and from that dough they create a bread, and they eat that bread.
The belief of the pope, with all of his followers is that
    The messiah Jesus (peace be upon him), the same Jesus who were speaking;
the same Jesus (peace be upon him) who according to the text of the bible didn’t say a word about himself being God,
the same Jesus (peace be upon him), becomes dough in this flower
and after he becomes dough, the followers of Christ eat God and
their meat and blood become mixed with God
    and this is their imaginations
The ultimate filthiness and lowness is that
In this country, we weaken the rights and rituals of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), until
Such nations which are drowned in such imaginations, look upon these rights and rituals critically.
    This is true pain.
this amount of ignorance rules over the people, and they imagine that
These rituals are too much and they must be lightened?!
This is the reasons that the comprehension and understanding of religion are necessary.
All of these subjects are the result of ignorance!
All of this fervor in this country, with all of these processions, and with all of these rituals
are nothing compared to the greatness of these trials and tribulations.
Neither was He (Imam Hussein- peace be upon him) recognized nor was his trials and tribulations.
Mohammad son of Ali Qomi, the person who
Allahama Hassan son of Yusuf son of Motahar, two of the narrators of Shiekh Saduq (may he rest in peace) are corrected by him
Meaning the teacher of Sheikh Saduq (may he rest in peace)
Such a man narrates from Ali son of Ibrahim Qomi, who is regarded as a reliable narrater (of hadith)
Narrates from Ibrahim son of Hashim that
Sheikh Saduq counts as reliable (Thiqe) and just (Adil).
And he narrates from Riyan son of Shabit that is reliable non twelver shia according to the account of Najashi.
The ‘chain’ or sources of narration of this are so reliable and well known that
It is narrated from Rayan that is reliable according to the account of the historian Najashi that:
“I went to the holy Imam Redha (peace be upon him) on the first day of the month of Muharram”
Pay close attention and understand what Ashura is! And
    What an incident this is!
Who is he who says these words, with such sources.
He who says these words (Imam Ali son of Imam Musa, Al Redha- peace be upon them) is he who
According to a narration with a reliable source of narrators, a source of narrators which
Sheikh Ansari makes a ruling or religious edict according to,
The visitation of the Imams grave is equal to the rewards of a thousand hajj pilgrimages!
Such a person is a religious specialist in this subject!
He said: “Oh son of Shabib are you fasting
    Today? I replied no
It is the first day of Moharram. Think about this! Comprehension in religion is
That you may pay special attention, with all of its grace and precision, so that you may understand the depth of the matter at hand.
The first day of Moharram is this fervor and stand!
After the questioning of his eminence and my answer, His eminence (peace be upon him) said:
“This is the same day that Zakaria wanted from God and
    God gave him Yahya.”
The blessing of the first day of these ten days of his eminences mourning is this.
The narration is very long, we will narrate a section which is close to the summary of this narration.
Then his eminence explained the prayer of Zakaria and about its being answered.
Then his eminence said: “Whoever fasts today
his prayer will be answered like the prayer of Zakaria.”
This is the final nail in this subject!
Then his eminence said a sentence that
Is difficult for me to say, let alone the understanding of.
Then his eminence said: “Oh son of Shabib! If you should cry over a thing then cry for Hussein (peace be upon him).”
‘over a thing’! where is one who comprehends religion?
‘if you should cry over a thing’
Is there a more encompassing subject or meaning than ‘thing’?!
Meaning that all of the trials and tribulations of the prophets (peace be upon them) are encompassed in this subject, and
The trials and tribulations of all of the successors to the prophets (peace be upon them) are also encompassed in the word ‘thing’ and
The trials and tribulations of the saints and the martyrs in the path of God are also encompassed in the word ‘thing’.
“If you should cry over a thing then cry for Hussein (peace be upon him).!
Who was he and what did he do! And what an incident was that?
Now all of you are aware of grace. Now go and think (upon this subject)!
If you thought about the day (of difficulties, trials, and tribulations) of the prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) then certainly there is no day like the day of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
If you remember the day of prophet Moses (peace be upon him) there is likewise no day like that of Imam Hussein’s (peace be upon him).
If prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) day comes to mind then (it should be known that) there is no day like that of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
    One more sentence is enough
His eminence (Imam Redha-peace be upon him) said: “My father” narrated from my grandfather that
“They didn’t kill my grandfather (Imam Hussein-peace be upon him)
My father told me about my grandfather that
When they killed him, the sky rained blood
What was this incident and what is this issue?
The scholar Tha’labi wrote, pay close attention!
Not only Tha’labi but also the great scholar Suyuti and
Not even only Suyuti, even the general historians and
Their narrators and commentators on the Qur’an
Both from the narrators of commentaries (on the Qur’an) and both from the narrators on hadith
All of these people have written this incident that
When he (Imam Hussein- peace be upon him) was martyred, the entire sky was red.
We say these things for the Sunni’s so that on the day of Ashura so they can know their responsibilities! Although
The Shiites have a different responsibility.
Ibn Jouzi has, in his analysis on this subject, mentioned that
When anger takes over, the face gets red and
Because the holy essence of the lord of lords is pure
His obvious anger on the incident of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein son of Imam Ali (peace be upon them), the sky was red.
These are the words of the important Sunni scholar!
The matter was obvious in a way that the time for trying to discredit this martyrdom scholastically.
This is the opinion of the Sunni's.
But from the point of view of the elite, what is the responsibility from the point of view of the Shiites.
Again the words of the eighth Imam are necessary here
I will say it and you think about it.
Those who say: don’t do lamentation, don’t do mourning with chains because it’s got harm!
These questions are spread by a group of the laymen into the minds of the people.
You must with all of your strength, be competent of the understanding of this religion!
If from Sheikh Tusi to Sheikh Ansari (may they rest in peace) are all gathered
They don’t have the value of one of the breaths of the eighth Imam (peace be upon him).
It has gone beyond this that from Salman (may he rest in peace) to who is after him
All must be sacrificed so that one breath of his eminence (peace be upon him) be saved.
Such a person said: “Certainly on the day of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) we mourn in a way that our eye lids become damaged and
our tears flow (from our faces)."
The eighth Imam (peace be upon him), has control over his tears! But
The words of Imam Ali Redha son of Imam Musa (peace be upon him) are that: “Our eye lids become damaged from mourning."
How much must he have cried that
All of his cuticles had become damaged.
This is the damage of the eyes of the eighth Imam (peace be upon him).
He (peace be upon him) knows what incident has taken place and
    He knows what happened.
If you want to know what this subject is
You must start from the Qur’an.
Pay close attention to these verses
First become recognize with the throne. What is the throne?
So for Allah the All High is the throne of truth
There is no lord but he, the lord of the bountiful throne.
There is no time for us to explain these and
Just a slight demonstration will be enough for you.
Pay close attention to where the word ‘throne’ is used.
Allah, there is no lord but he, the lord of the majestic throne.
In that verse ‘the bountiful throne’ and in this verse the majestic throne.
And he is the forgiving, the compassionate.
The master of the glorious throne.
    Here ‘the glorious throne’.
In relation to his own command his eminence has said
"And then he took (control) of creation and directed creation." (Surah Yunus, Ayah 3)
When he comments on the measure,
"And look upon the angels of God who have gathered in circles around the throne of God." (Surah Zomar, Ayah 75)
When the lord explains the level of trust of the prophet (in God) he says:
Trust in him and he is the lord of the majestic throne.
When he reaches the subject of the glorifying (of God), he says
So glory be to Allah, the lord of the throne, to that which he relates to
He who carries the throne and from around him they glorify their lord by his remembrance.
Verily this (Qur'an) is sent by a great messenger (The angel Gabriel, peace be upon him)."(Surah Takwir, Ayah 19)
Who is powerful and has a high station (with God)."
Such a throne, with this greatness, when
In that ascension (night flight) in which God has mentioned that ascension (in the Qur'an)
Glory be to he who took his servant (on the ascension) at night.
He took him (the prophet) to a place and revealed to him that which he revealed.
He said: “When I looked upon the throne
I saw that on the stand of the throne it was written
“Verily Hussein (peace be upon him) is the lantern of guidance and the boat of savior.”
A person who’s greatness reaches the level that
That ‘throne’ which he (the lord) gave such characteristics
He has labeled his throne with his name.
Now it can been understood why he said
On the day of Hussein our eye lids become injured from mourning."
These lamentations and mourning are nothing.
Each year this country must change.
The procession of Ashura, each year in relation to the amount, and from the aspect of quality, must increase!
People! You must know that these processions are every day.
The guardian angels travel from the earth to the sky and
When they want to go to the highest of gods stations, they
All do a visitation of the ‘king of the martyrs’ (Imam Hussein- peace be upon him).
    These words are amazing.
The narration is that: “when one enters the area of the martyrdom (of Imam Hussein-peace be upon him).
The angels that are in the holy shrine, don’t speak to the other angels.
They shake hands but they don’t speak.
Why? Because they cry until morning.
When the sunrises they speak to the guardian angels and then go.
The greatness of this trial and tribulation is at this point.
Then after they go to the highest throne
    Fatima Zahra ‘Siddiqatul Kubra’, who
with a thousand prophets and a thousand discipiles and a thousand martyrs and a thousand thousand (million) of angels
Are met by the angels who are the visitors of the grave of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
    The narration is that:
“when they meet these (angels), they yell, they shout
All of the angels of the sky, all stop glorifying when they hear the cry of Fatima Zahra (peace be upon her)
This problem doesn’t get solved, as soon as they tell the prophet
the prophet comes and gives his condolences to him… wait?
why? Because when they (the angels) return, she (Fatima Zahra, peace be upon her) looks down and see's that tribulation (karbala)
    I will say a word so that the people can understand what tribulations are;
The day of Hussein (peace be upon him) is the day that we mourn in a way that our eye lids bleed.
Oh son of Shoayb… Verily Hussein (peace be upon him) was killed in the way that sheep are killed.
I cannot translate "Dhibh (Slaughter)…" (out of distress).
But the trials and tribulations are: "If you want to slaughter a sheep islamically you give it water but he (Imam Hussein, peace be upon him) was killed while thirstry."
"He who is taken over by thirst see's all that is between him and the skys as smoke."
